Guidelines

Vanitas comes out periodically. While impossible to predict, usually there is a one to two year span between issues. If you submit your work, you must plan to be patient with the editorial process. We consider each submission carefully, and replies may come some time after the end of the reading period. You should be familiar with the magazine before submitting; it is recommended that you read an issue before submitting work.

Submissions by e-mail are highly preferred. All replies will be made by e-mail. Attach a separate file for each text. You must include your name and e-mail address on every page. If it is absolutely impossible for you to make a submission by e-mail, you may use regular mail (Vanitas, c/o Vincent Katz, 211 West 19th Street, #5, New York, NY 10011), but note that replies are made only by e-mail. Do not send SASE or expect reply by normal mail. The reading period for each issue is from November 1 to February 28.

Submissions are now closed for Vanitas 7, which will be the last print issue of the journal. The theme for issue 7 is The Self.
